Dear fellow Americans in the swing states, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
You’re slated to “decide the election”. As a legal immigrant who came to America decades ago, allow me the privilege of sharing a few thoughts.
Nobody likes being told what to do. When we were kids, we had to follow what our parents, teachers, and other authority figures told us to do and not do. It turns out, as kids, rules and a certain amount of discipline are good for character development. Nonetheless, when we reached adulthood and were able to live more by our own rules, it felt good.
Our Founding Fathers understood this. The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution essentially say that we need some government, but people should generally be free to undertake their own “pursuit of happiness” their own way and not be told what to do, at least by the government.
Today, we’re in the clutches of a political party, the Democrats, who believe when they win an election they do not govern, they rule.
- Governors Newsome (California), Whitmer (Michigan), Cuomo and Hochul (New York) relished the COVID crisis and aftermath, for they could tell people: to wear masks; not to go to church; to get vaccinated.
- The Dems tell you: the kind of stove you can use (no gas stove); the kind of car you can buy (electric vehicle mandates); how you can heat your house (banning gas connections); the kind of light bulb you must use; and how your electricity must be produced…all the while raising the cost of these things.
- The Dems tell you that you must believe a man can be a woman and vice-versa, and you must use certain pronouns or you’ll be cancelled. They decide what speech is allowed and what isn’t. Their speech is protected, yours is “misinformation” and should be throttled—and they are the deciders of what truth is.
- The Dems want to seize more of the fruits of your labor with tax increases, inventing taxes on capital gains that haven’t yet occurred. They tell you what your minimum and maximum wealth should be.
- When they lose elections, they try to stop democracy by wanting to abolish or pack the Supreme Court; abolish the electoral college. In 2012, Democrats occupied the Wisconsin statehouse and had key members flee the state to prevent a voting quorum because they knew they would lose the vote.
- The Dems attitude turns the phrase, “Public Servant” on its head. “Public Servant” used to mean someone who works for the government, and by doing so works for the citizens who fund the government. Under the Dems, “Public Servant” means the public is the servant of the government! They—the elite—know better how to run your life than you do.
Whatever you think of Donald Trump, as we saw in his first term, he exemplified the old version of a “public servant”. He actually wanted to help the average citizen. And he did [1]. Donald Trump and the Republicans do not want to tell you what do; they want to make the conditions in America better so you can do what you want to do.
And so, Swing-State Voters, do you want to be told what to do?
If you do, then, for all the above reasons, I’m telling you to vote for Donald Trump and the Republicans.
If you don’t like being told what to do, then…you better vote for Donald Trump and the Republicans!
