We took a break last weekend. Happy New Year!
Trump Takes
The Speaker of the House
- Much to the chagrin of the left-wing media, Mike Johnson was re-elected speaker on the first ballot on Friday. It was not without some drama where apparently Trump personally contacted several hold outs and convinced them of the need to govern effectively versus demanding perfection. But one didn’t: Thomas Massie of Kentucky. While we agree with many of Massie’s positions on fiscal matters, he should know that now, more than ever, unity among the GOP is needed, given the slim majority we have in the House. His action is reminiscent of people like Romney and Ryan. For this reason, Massie is the second recipient of Romney-Ryan SERPENT Award.[1]
The Nippon Steel Saga
- Both Biden and Trump agree on one thing: they don’t want Japan’s Nippon Steel to buy US Steel. We disagree with both.
- Japan is an ally; China isn’t. And yet we have multi-billion-dollar business dealings with China, even though these trade deals hurt U.S. workers. Nippon has promised to modernize the obsolete steel mills in PA and IN. Besides, in the foreseeable future AI technology will replace a lot of the human production processes. Japan’s automobile companies have created thousands of jobs in America. There are at least a dozen Japanese car manufacturing plants in different states in the U.S.[2]
- It’s ironic that the Biden administration has let in millions of uneducated illegals (including thousands of felons) into the country, but are worried about Japanese firms wanting to improve American productivity using American workers for the most part.
- And it’s also ironic that the incoming Trump administration wants to attract bright international people to legally enter and enrich the country. Surely, Japanese engineers should qualify, no? So, why does Trump dislike the Nippon deal? In a word, Unions—traditionally a democrat ally, they supported him in the recent elections and oppose the deal. As a former construction magnate in NYC, Trump dealt with unions and has a personal affinity for “working guys” who built his projects. But he also must know the corruption and damage that unions can do. The topic of unions is worthy of a full post, but we believe that while people should have the right to form unions and negotiate, it should equally be true that nobody should be required to join a union just because 51% of workers joined. Neither should employers be required to hire union workers. But that’s not how it is right now so Trump will have to dance between the unions and the businesses.
Other Takes
- ESPN’s faux pas: ESPN failed to air the patriotic chants of U.S.A, and the national anthem, at the Sugar Bowl, following the NOLA terrorist attack. But they were/are always eager to show the mentally-challenged BLM athletes kneeling during the anthem. ESPN should be abolished; alas, that would be un-American. Boycott this left-wing propaganda machine pretending to be a sports network![3]
- Liberating the 1st Amendment: Almost all liberal media outlets reported that a Tesla Cybertruck exploded in flames outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas. But they omitted a small fact: a bomb, planted in the vehicle by a criminal, had caused the explosion. This calculated omission made it sound like there was something wrong with Tesla Cybertrucks.[4] The liberal scumbags will twist the truth anyway they can against people they hate. To them, the second most hated man (after Trump) is Elon Musk, for he liberated free speech by acquiring Twitter. It doesn’t matter to the MSM losers that Musk will go down in history as one of the greatest innovators ever.
- A felon’s friend: Should Biden posthumously pardon the Muslim terrorist—a former US military soldier— who went on a killing spree in NOLA? Why the hell not! After all, Biden is on a pardoning spree. He pardoned all the convicted murderers in federal prisons that are on death row, and his son, Hunter—the career criminal who sold our interests to foreign governments. And now he’s getting ready to pardon that charlatan, Liz Cheney, for misleading the American public about the so-called January 6th insurrection at the State Capitol.
- Contaminating the 1st Amendment: And then there is the liberal media bloke, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, who said that U.S. military personnel are a greater threat to national security than illegal immigrants, since they have killed more Americans than illegals.[5] Employing this man’s perverted logic, the thousands of rapes, kidnappings, children/women being trafficked, and drug peddling—perpetrated by illegals—don’t hurt/kill Americans. What O’Donnell should’ve said is that the liberal MSM, which includes O’Donnell, is now a greater threat to U.S. democracy and Americans than a few deranged U.S. military veterans, for they have destroyed honest journalism in this country and, in the process, tainted the 1st Amendment by spreading fake news.
- Honorable Americans: Joe Biden had a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House. They must have juiced him up for the event because he was uncharacteristically alert and coherent for about 30 minutes. This segment is the good part of the ceremony. Many of the recipients had fought in Korea and Vietnam. All but one of the medals were posthumous. You saw older parents, siblings, and spouses, proudly, yet still grieving, accept the medals. It was amazing to hear the descriptions of gallantry and sad for the price paid. These soldiers died fighting COMMUNISM and SOCIALISM. Unfortunately, modern-day democrats have embraced many tenets of these ideologies.
- The dollar-store awards: The bad part of the award ceremony comprised awarding the Medal of Freedom to two of the worst humans on the planet, Hillary Clinton and George Soros. In addition to having cemented his legacy as the worst president in U.S. history, Biden now holds the distinct honor of being the stupidest one as well. Of course, most awards are meaningless nowadays and are cheaper than the items at a Dollar General: after all, no one knows why Hussein Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize some years prior; and Trump was recently named Person of the Year by Time Magazine—a dubious honor by an irrelevant publication.
