The Trump Tracker (Nov 17, 2024)

by | Nov 17, 2024

The Trump Tracker is your one-stop news bulletin that will be uncompromising in its reporting each week, using credible sources and fact-checking.

Trump Takes

  • Joe Biden met with Trump at the WH to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Trump is the first Republican candidate to receive more than 76 million votes in a presidential election.
  • The following are Trump’s picks for key posts in the incoming administration. Of course, they have to be confirmed by the Senate. Several posts have yet to be filled.

  • The two picks that will face most scrutiny: Matt Gaetz (Attorney General) and Pete Hegseth (Defense Secretary).
  • Matt Gaetz was being investigated by the House Ethics Committee over allegations of sexual misconduct, illicit drug use and accepting “improper gifts”. But his resignation this week essentially ended the investigation.[1] Prior to that, the Department of Justice dropped their investigation of Gaetz, citing lack of evidence.
  • Pete Hegseth is being unfairly targeted, because of his youth and because he worked for Fox News as a correspondent and an anchor. His military credentials are noteworthy. Details can be found here.[2] The employees at the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are, supposedly, threatening to quit if Hegseth is confirmed. Alas, the ODEI won’t be around for much longer; it’s one of the first government departments that will be abolished once and for all. Good riddance to bad stupidity.
  • Two former Democrats, Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr., have been nominated to join Trump’s cabinet.
  • Karoline Leavitt will be the new WH Press Secretary. At age 27, she will be the youngest person to be appointed for this post.[3]

Other Takes

  • The Harris campaign spent $1b in three months and is reportedly now $20m in debt.[4] She even paid Oprah Winfrey $1m to help in her campaign. Just imagine if Harris-Walz had won and taken charge of the U.S. economy! Shudder!
  • Elon Musk & Vivek Ramaswamy will be heading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). They plan to cut at least $2T in the next two years. This should be a fun project. Their agenda should target nonsensical research in academia funded by the NSF, NIH, etc. Here’s one example: NIH grant (2024); Amount: $173,197; Recipient: Brown University; Purpose: Developing and testing a stigma reduction focused, gender affirmative mobile health (MHEALTH) program to engage Chinese transgender women in HIV prevention via promoting their mental and sexual health, HIV self-testing and use of HIV and gender-related community and medical resources.[5]
  • Trump’s sweeping victory is bringing about much needed changes in the biased main-stream media. The LA Times owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, vowed to take the liberal paper in a new direction so that “all voices” will be heard. ABC’s The View is planning to add a conservative host to their sinking program. This is what the word WOKE should mean: the main-stream media is finally waking up and realizing how harmful their biased reporting was to America.
